ŽIVINICE city parks

About city parks:

Živinice is essentially a plain valley on the banks of rivers Spreča and Oskova, bordered and surrounded by dense and high deciduous and coniferous forests - the slopes of the legendary mountains Konjuh and Majevica. In addition to these natural beauties, in the city center there are several parks full of natural greenery suitable for an all - day stay or a short break from everyday obligations.

Right next to former Hotel Konjuh in the forest of a century-old pedunculate oak there is a city park with the symbolic name "Konjuh".
Although this park has long been considered one of the most visited city zones for daily rest and stay, it has gained greater importance in the period from 2018 until today, when during the term of Mayor Samir Kamenjaković it was enriched with many sports facilities. The very aesthetics of the park is enriched by paved paths and a finely landscaped park alley in the shade under the lush branches of a century-old pedunculate oak.
Along with swings and slides for kids and young people from Živinice, there is also equipment for gymnasts from our city, but also its guests.
With concrete and wooden benches and a chessboard in the middle of the park, and a lake of sand, the highlight of one of the better city projects is the basketball court for recreational players and basketball fans.

The basketball court has a plastic surface and Živinice's basketball fans have been organizing a 3×3 tournament for a couple of years now. Prises for the winning team, as well as the best player, best dunk and best three-pointer shooter are given. The organizers of the 3×3 tournament in Živinice try to provide a better financial fund for prizes every year, which attracts more and more quality teams from the former Yugoslavia.

In addition to the unique basketball court on the west side of the park, there is also a football field covered with artificial grass.
The construction of a tennis court is also underway, which will further enrich the "Konjuh" park.
Due to the unique ambience in this park, numerous events are organised here.
In July 2021, a mega gastronomic event "International Cuisine" was held in this park as part of the event "Days of the Diaspora - Summer in Živinice", where the park was visited by up to 3,000 visitors a day.

The second largest park in the city zone of Živinice is the Central Park, which is located next to the building of the City Administration of Živinice.
This is also a monumental type park, in the central part of the park there is a memorial to Bosnian defenders.
During the three-year aggression on our country, 237 martyrs were killed or fighters from the area of Živinice were killed.
Their names were inscribed on the copper plates of the central symbolic stone monument.
At the entrance to the park is a bust of the War Hero of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nesib Malkić, former commander of the 210th Brigade. This unit, as well as other poultry units, fought on all battlefields in Bosnia and Herzegovina, from Gradačac, Brčko and Teočak to Bihać and Sarajevo.

On significant dates in our history, various delegations lay wreaths and flowers here.

Next to the Central Park is Tito's bust.
A memorial bust was erected in memory of May 4, 1980, the day of the death of former SFRY President and world statesman Josip Broz Tito.
On The Victory over Fascism Day, and other relevant historical dates, many delegations lay flowers at the memorial bust.
